2012 Game - Rebound Rumble

In 2012, our robot played a FIRST FRC game called Rebound Rumble. This game, which is loosely based on basketball, is played by two alliances of three robots. On each end of the court, there are four baskets arranged in a diamond shape. Robots earn points by making shots into basketball hoops of different heights using foam basketballs, with the lowest basket being valued at one point, the middle baskets at two, and the top basket at three. At the end of the game, robots may earn an additional 10 points by balancing on tilting bridges in the center of the field. Extra points may be earned for balancing multiple robots on the bridge, with two robots being worth double and three robots (in non-qualifying rounds) being worth triple. In addition, during qualifying rounds, one robot from each of the opposing alliances may come together to balance on the central bridge, marked with the FIRST logo; if they are successful, all teams on both alliances gain two extra qualification points that are factored into the final rankings equally to number of wins. This extra element makes the central FIRST value of coopertition critical to success in Rebound Rumble.
